Many individuals served by DSNWK have medical needs, and require increased nursing attention as they age. DSNWK has a specialized home for individuals who are medically fragile and in need of twenty-four hour medical support services and assistance. DSNWK focuses on providing the highest quality of care by enhancing services for those individuals. Wellness screenings are provided for eligible persons served to help identify potential health concerns early and address them. DSNWK has Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) available for consultation twenty-four hours a day, as well as support services from Medical Assistants.

In addition, DSNWK also has nurses who are available to provide assistance and training to direct service staff. Current staff training offerings include Medication Administration, Medication Administration Recertification, and Health Care. Nurses are available to provide specific medical training related to individual treatments or general information, benefitting both staff and persons served.
